Tees for Two

You’re an hour into exploring the new Fighting Eel flagship store (Fashion/Boutiques-Stores/Reinventing-the-Eel) and your boyfriend looks downright miserable. But you’ve still got at least a dozen more things you want to try on and you haven’t even hit the accessories yet. But what to do with him? Send him next door to the TeeTee Bar, obviously. You already knew the girls behind Fighting Eel were fashion geniuses, but it turns out they’re relationship Einsteins too. After all, what man can resist a TeeTee Bar?The latest venture from the Fighting Eel gals, TeeTee Bar is hardly your typical t-shirt shop. It's filled to the brim with awesome designy styles, meaning no bikini body tees, not a single “My Grandma went to Waikiki and all I got was this shirt” print, and the place is delightfully void of Red Dirt Shirts. Instead, it offers up handpicked styles from hard-to-find brands like Mighty Fine, Warriors of Radness and 2K, along with a selection of tees from local brands, like Organik Clothing.

Reinventing the Eel

The zeros at the end of your paycheck. The half-parking space you squeezed into on the 20th try. The two-sizes-too-small jeans you crammed yourself into only to have your muffin top spilleth over. Listen up ladies, size matters. Case in point? The new Fighting Eel flagship store.Sure, you loved their old Hotel Street spot, with the intimacy of shopping mere feet from where your dress was designed; but with their inventory steadily growing, it was hard to deny that Fighting Eel had become a big fish in a small pond.

Get Reel

It's Saturday night and you're off on your weekly fishing expedition – down into the depths of your jewelry box, that is. Sure you love the seafloor's worth of pearly shelled pieces you've reeled in over the years, but when you transform from daytime beach babe into night-out-on-the-town trendster, you'd love to rock some ocean-inspired accessories with just a little more edge. Get hooked on the Nani Aho collection from local jewelry line Meesah. What started off as a few simple styles has just recently expanded into a full range of re-purposed rings, bracelets, and embellished earrings.

Shutter Smug

It took you all afternoon, but your online dating profile is almost complete. You checked off the boxes for those that need not apply (we’re looking at you Mr. Emotionally Unavailable) and supplied enough info about your life to make you seem like the catch you are. Now, you just have to settle on a photo. Unfortunately, all of your current snaps are semi-drunk numbers your friends took while bar hopping in Chinatown — those negatives are truly negative.
