Who says your crazy jam-packed calendar is only Monday through Friday? Last Saturday you squeezed in a surf in the morning, shopped for and showed up at a baby luau in the afternoon, then headed straight out to meet friends for dinner.

Not long ago Oaks was selling vintage dresses she altered and embellished from a tent at craft fairs and North Shore surf meets. But her designs have evolved into simple and feminine original dresses now stocked in sophisticated boutiques. Many are made from bamboo and organic cotton fabric and all of them are sewn right here on O‘ahu.

And her new spring collection – in stores now – runs the gamut from flirty cocktail frocks to simple slip styles that look as appropriate at the beach as they do dressed up.
