Maui-designed Green Fiend Apparel launches

Some cravings you’re better off resisting (triple cheeseburgers, $500 designer shoes). Others (an ice-cold beer after a long day at work, incredibly-soft comfy cotton tees that you’ll wear forever) are SO worth giving into.

No one knows this better than Papiloa Jourdan, whose own addiction to edgy basics and all things earth-friendly served as the catalyst for Green Fiend Apparel, her newly launched eco-chic streetwear line.

The Maui-based designer started off in 2008 making sweatshop-free handbags constructed using only recycled and organic materials. Her 2010 debut clothing collection follows suit, aptly named Revolt—a nod to its rebellion against mainstream manufacturing.

The stylish mix includes essentials like v-neck tees, rugby stripe crews, and easy boat-neck shirtdresses, along with trendier, urban-inspired pieces like sheer, minimally treated silk hoodies and burnout tanks in neon hues.

Most feature simple graphic prints which range from silhouettes of trees and 80’s-style lettering to vertical line clusters. And all have undergone a variety of finishing processes for a weathered, vintage texture and look.

Best of all, a portion of the proceeds from all sales are donated to the local chapter of the Make A Wish foundation.
