You know when you taste just a little bite of heaven. Or get an ultra-pampering spa treatment that feels like heaven.

Here’s where to go to feel like you just stepped into shopping heaven: the newly expanded Mu‘uMu‘u Heaven in Kailua.

The formerly cozy 1,400-square-foot boutique just last weekend transformed into a sprawling, multi-room 3,300-square-foot shop with full-size picture windows fronting Kailua Road. There’s a lot more room now to showcase the signature dresses made with swatches of vintage mu‘umu‘us and sustainable bamboo fabric, and to show off a bigger collection of accessories cut from the same cloth, like tote bags, beach bags, and zippered cosmetics cases, as well as several lines of locally made jewelry and funky vintage-style sunglasses.

Head back to the old boutique space through a mini art gallery with large scale Clark Little photos, and the beginnings of a men’s collection of T-shirts and aloha shirts (owner and creative force Deb Mascia plans to expand the men’s offerings in the near future).

The original shop is now a homewares section filled with handpicked antique teacup sets, salt and pepper shakers, and artfully mismatched wine goblets and vases that have found new life as vessels for hand-poured soy candles. There are throw pillows of all sizes, cute stuffed animals made with vintage mu‘umu‘u fabric, and of course, pieces from the Heavenly Home collection of recycled furniture that’s been rehabbed and reupholstered with vintage fabric.

Now that's what you call a divine reinvention.
