Who's Watching You? Kaui-designed Bathys Hawai‘i watches

You’re late for a very important date (again), all because you haven’t found a timepiece to complement your life (let alone your outfits). Just one day in the life of you might include a morning surf session, rainy mountain hike, dinner date at Town, and then a moonlit night dive. John Patterson could relate, and in 2005 decided it was time his Kaua‘i lifestyle partnered with a top quality watch that perfectly enhanced Hawai‘i’s extremes. That’s when he began designing Swiss-made quartz watches – waterproof to 100 fathoms and unstoppable at high elevation, But they’ve only been for men – until this month, when Bathys Hawai‘i launched its first women’s line. The Lunar Wahine features a scratchproof sapphire crystal face, glowing numerals visible in total darkness, a moon phase indicator to track tides, surf and stars, and a date window – all waterproof to 330 feet and accompanied by two waterproof straps: one black leather, one genuine spotted stingray. They’re changeable in less than a minute, so now you, too, can go from casual to fancy, mountain to sea in a hop. And still be on Hawai‘i time. Bathys Hawai‘i watches are available at Ben Bridge Timeworks in Ala Moana Center, 808. 951-5600 |
