You’ve always had dreams. Not the one where you have cocktails with Christian Bale, but more like the one you shared with all island girls growing up—life in a big city, trotting past sky-rises and artsy neighborhoods, all while wearing fabulous shoes as comfy as your familiar rubbah slippahs. Sao Paulo-based shoe label Melissa’s Plastic Dreams lets you live out that fantasy, by teaming up with famous architects and designers from around the globe to create plastic shoes that are a totally modern and high-fashion riff on your old-school jellies. Recently they teamed with furniture and industrial designers The Made from hypoallergenic, flexible PVC, each unique design in Melissa’s Winter ’08 line travels easily from day to night, jeans to cocktail, while you show off wearable, sculptural art. The upcoming Summer ’09 collection includes a Zig Zag style designed by Vivian Westwood, and other new styles by London architect Zaha Hadid. These shoes will keep you walking, anywhere your fantasies take you.
