Runway Project
What: Want to see Hawaii’s best up-and-coming designers? There might be another Christian Siriano in the bunch at Friday’s fashion show featuring the designs of current UH fashion students. Plus, check out the art show by UH costume collection curator Carol D’Angelo and enjoy complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres.
When: Friday. Reception begins at 5 p.m., Fashion show starts at 7 p.m.

Standing Ovation
What: Surfing’s got it’s Pipeline, and stand-up paddling has this weekend’s World Tour professional championship. Watch the SUP pros tear it up at Sunset Beach before they head to France, Tahiti and California to shred up the rest of the world’s waves.
When: The holding period begins on Saturday at 8 a.m.

What: Chocolate’s not just for dessert anymore. Check out other ways to enjoy cocoa flavor at Brasserie Du Vin’s chocolate tasting, where you can sample an appetizer of chocolate-rubbed pork loin with a chocolate demi-glace. Plus taste other chocolates ranging from 50 to 80 percent cacao.
